HUDSON, Wis. – Royal Credit Union (Royal) announces Matthew Schewe as VP of Retail Operations. In this position, Schewe’ s provides leadership and direction for Royal’s retail offices in the Minnesota Metro and parts of the St. Croix Valley. Schewe also oversees branch budgets and develops strategic recommendations regarding products, promotions, risk, profitability, growth goals, Member experience, and operations.
Schewe started with Royal in 2018 as a Business Development Coordinator in the Twin Cities market. He was responsible for ensuring Royal met growth targets from a branch, mortgage, and business lending perspective. He also served as interim CEO at People’s Choice Credit Union, during the merger of People’s Choice and Royal. Most recently, Schewe was a Digital Experience Manager who led his team in the development of new approaches designed to improve Member digital experience and satisfaction. Before working at Royal, Schewe served in leadership roles at both City and County Credit Union in St. Paul and University of Wisconsin Credit Union in Madison.
