Starting her journey as a Teller, Emily Lau has advanced through various roles at Royal, including Member Account Representative, Branch Team Lead, and Branch Manager. Today, as the Regional Director of Branch Operations, Emily is dedicated to making a lasting impact on the teams she works with.
Initially majoring in early elementary education in college, Emily discovered her passion for working with Members as a Teller at Royal. She found it rewarding to educate others on financial products and services, empowering individuals with financial knowledge and guiding them on their journey to financial well-being.
With the support of leaders who recognized her potential, Emily was encouraged to explore her strengths and take on new challenges. Their mentorship was crucial in her development, motivating her to pursue leadership opportunities. Emily prepared herself for leadership by reading books and connecting with her network of mentors and other leaders to gain insights. She admired the qualities of those she looked up to and aimed to incorporate many of those same qualities into her own leadership style.
Emily is continually evolving as a leader, attending trainings, conferences, and conventions to learn from as many experiences as possible. She enjoys witnessing and contributing to the career development of her team members, supporting their growth even in areas outside her own expertise.
