Feed My People Operation Picnic

Around 30 Royal team members participated in the annual Operation Picnic Pack-a-thon at Feed My People Food Bank last Tuesday. Operation Picnic brings the community together to combat summer hunger around the Chippewa Valley. This was Royal’s third year volunteering at this event, and team members spent the morning packing dry beans into 2-pound bags which were then gathered in boxes to be shipped to one of Feed My People’s 252 hunger-relief programs throughout west central Wisconsin. Royal was able to package just over 3400 pounds of dry beans.

“Volunteers are tremendous and special to us. With the hours volunteers provide Feed My People it would be equivalent to having another 20 to 22 full time staff members,” says Ken Sitzman the Volunteer/Rework Lead for Feed My People.

Operation Picnic is a favorite volunteer opportunity among Royal team members and allows us to live out our core purpose of creating a positive impact in the lives we touch.
