As we wrap up 2024, it's time to reflect on the incredible impact the RCU Foundation has made in our communities. This year, the Foundation continued its mission to support large-scale capital projects in education, arts, and health, making a significant difference in the lives of many.
One of the standout gifts this year was a generous $110,000 donation to the D.R. Moon Memorial Public Library in Stanley, WI in support of their expansion project. Since 1901, the library has provided books, programming, and assistance to the community. This beautiful building is on the National Register of Historic Places, and the planned remodel and expansion will not only preserve the essence of this space, but it will also create a safer and more accessible library, ensuring the library can continue to serve the community for years to come.
Additionally, the Foundation provided a $150,000 gift to the St. Croix Valley Food Bank in support of the new food bank being constructed in Hudson, WI. The new warehouse and community volunteer center will allow the St.Croix Valley Food Bank to increase their capacity to respond to the needs of the community today and far into the future.
Rock the Riverfront featuring the Charity Classic, the RCU Foundation’s annual charity event, was a tremendous success in 2024. In honor of the race’s 30th Anniversary, the RCU Foundation donated $30,000 to three local animal rescue organizations: the Chippewa Humane Association, Dunn County Humane Society, and Eau Claire Community Humane Association. These organizations are committed to providing care to animals while they wait for a second chance at finding loving families. Based on voting by race participants and purchased community votes the RCU Foundation donated: $15,000 to the Chippewa Humane Association, $10,000 to the Eau Claire Community Humane Association, and $5,000 to the Dunn County Humane Society. In 2025, we are excited to partner with the Eau Claire Marathon to present the 10K Charity Classic as part of the marathon weekend. Registration is now open!
Throughout the year, the RCU Foundation has also supported various other initiatives, including:
- $400,000 to the UW-Eau Claire Foundation
- $230,000 to the Children’s Museum of Eau Claire
- $100,000 to the Lakeshore Players Theatre in White Bear Lake, MN
